We are pleased to announce our next event, a breakfast featuring three entrepreneurs who will talk about setting up your own business, on April 15th 2009. Guests are welcome, but numbers are limited, so please reserve early.

Speakers: Bernardo Ouro Preto (St Marche), Marcelo Conde (Spring Wireless) and Maria Rita Pikielny (P.J.Clarke’s)

Marcelo Condé, CEO: Prior to founding Spring Wireless, Condé worked at Gradus (affiliate of GP Investimentos) in Brazil evaluating private equity investments in Latin America, and at Goldman Sachs in the Mergers & Acquisitions Division. He also worked as a consultant at Booz Allen & Hamilton and as a financial analyst at Procter & Gamble. Condé holds a MBA degree from Harvard Business School, where he graduated with high distinction as a Baker Scholar and a BS degree in Robotics & Mechanical Engineering from University of Sao Paulo, where he was ranked 1st out of 700.

Bernardo Ouro Preto developed his business plan and acquired his first neighbourhood supermarket five years ago. Today they operate six units, employ over 600 people, have sales over R$ 100 MM p.a. and plan to quintuple that. He was previously an investmet banker at Violy, Byorum & Partners and a portfolio manager on Wall Street. He holds a degree in Economics from Fordham and an MBA from Wharton.

Maria Rita Pikielny studied Hotel and Restaurant Management at Ecole Hoteliere in Geneva and has an MBA from Business School Sao Paulo. She has worked in the US food related industry, subsequently at CSAV, and helped implement the Argentinean alfajor/chocolate Brazilian franchise Havanna, prior to setting up P.J. Clarke’s in Brazil, in which she is an investor.


The event will be held in Portuguese.

Cost: Booz & Company is kindly offering breakfast and the location. Parking is paid.
