We are pleased to announce our next event, a luncheon with Britaldo Pedrosa Soares, President of AES Brazil, on Wednesday, September 10th, 2008. Guests are welcome, but numbers are limited, so please reserve early.

Topic: "The Power Sector in Brazil".

Speaker: Britaldo Pedrosa Soares, President of AES Brazil

Britaldo is a graduate (Metallurgical Engineering) of the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, with graduate work in Engenharia Econômica at the Fundação Dom Cabral, and the Darden School of Business – University of Virginia.
He started his career in Citibank/Citigroup in 1980, and from 1988 to 1992, was a Vice President of the Corporate Bank.
From 1992 to 1998 he was CFO of the pulp group at Caemi/Jari and President of Jari Celulose and in 1999 joined Enron South America and Prisma Energy (holding company of the Elektro power distribution company). He was Financial Vice-President, from 1999 through august 2005 and was Elektro’s CFO and Investor Relations head between 1999 and 2003.
In September 2005 he was named VP Finance and Investors Relations of AES group companies in Brazil (Eletropaulo, AES Tietê, AES Uruguaiana, AES Sul, among others) and since July 2007 is President of AES in Brazil.
Britaldo will speak in Portuguese.
Cost: Will be announced next week - apologies for this. Payment is due at the restaurant.

Presence: Given that we have to confirm the number of participants upfront to the restaurant, cancellations will be accepted with no charge until noon, Tuesday 9th. After that, if you confirmed your presence, or that of guests, we will have to charge you the cost of the lunch.
